Questions

Honest answers

Can I import from Scrivener or Word?
Not yet. You can paste text into scenes, and Markdown formatting is recognized as you type. Importing DOCX and Scrivener projects is on the roadmap.
Does it work offline?
No. Codicis is a web app; it needs a connection to save. If a save fails, the editor warns you clearly and keeps your text until it can retry.
Can I share a project with a co-author or beta readers?
Not yet. Codicis is single-writer for now. Collaboration and reader comments are planned for a later version.
Where is my data stored?
On servers in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest. You can export the whole project at any time, and a daily backup is kept for you to download.
What happens if I stop paying?
Your account becomes read-only. Nothing is deleted, and export stays available. Subscribe again and everything is where you left it.
Do you use my writing to train AI?
No. Never. There is no AI feature in Codicis, and your text is not used to train any model, ours or anyone else’s.

A new project opens straight in the editor — Book One, Chapter One, Scene One. The world can wait until you need it.
